No-deal on Brexit could really stink.
If the UK leaves the European Union without passing a host of stopgap measures by March 29, it might face a trash crisis.
Licenses to export millions of tons of trash to Scandinavia and other parts of Northern Europe could expire overnight, leaving “putrefying stockpiles of rubbish,” the Guardian reported.
“It could all get very ugly, very quickly,” an Environment Agency source told the newspaper.
Officials also fear what will happen if the UK can’t export lamb and beef. If livestock are stuck in place, liquid manure storage could overflow.
