A baby boy is fighting for his life after he was cut from his slain, nine-months-pregnant mother’s womb in Chicago.
The newborn, whose family says was named Yadiel Lopez, remains in critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Ill., following the savage attack.
The baby suffered severe brain damage and may be pulled from life support in the coming days, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
A Chicago police official told The Post Thursday that the baby is “not doing well.”
Marlen Ochoa-Lopez, 19, the baby’s mother, was allegedly strangled to death after a 46-year-old woman named Clarisa Figueroa lured her to her home with an offer of free baby clothes on a Facebook group for moms.
Police say Ochoa-Lopez’s baby was “forcibly removed” from her body.
Ochoa-Lopez’s body was found dumped in garbage behind the Figueroas’ home on the city’s Southwest Side shortly after midnight on Wednesday — and roughly three weeks after she was reported missing, cops said.
On April 23 — the day Ochoa-Lopez was reported missing — paramedics were called to the home with a report of an unresponsive newborn.
DNA tests later confirmed that that baby was Ochoa-Lopez’s, sources told the Sun-Times.
Cops have charged Figueroa and her daughter, Desiree Figueroa, 24, with murder, while Clarisa’s boyfriend, Piotr Bobak, 40, was charged with concealment of a crime.
